Allison (Lead Vocals)

Allison Phillips (she/her) is a prolific singer/songwriter/rockstar who moved in Cincinnati in September 2024 from Chicago. She has performed in a number of original and cover bands in the midwest, as well as in New Zealand, where she lived for 4 years after college. Her musical passions started at the incredible age of 6 and has been her undying love since high school where she was heavily involved in choir and musical theater. Since then, she has pivoted to writing original music and performs and releases music under her name and can be found on all streaming platforms. You will find her gigging with both Something Blue and acoustic around Cincinnati/Chicago/Louisville/the world – definitely be sure to check her out when you can! You won’t regret it.

Michael (Guitarist, Vocals)

Heralding from Cincinnati, Michael Brokamp has been playing music since his first lesson in 1996. A student of the nationally celebrated Loveland High School Jazz Orchestra, Brokamp furthered his musical studies at Ohio University where he graduated with a degree in Music and Media Studies. While his years at university in Athens, he was also a founding member of Elemental Groove Theory, who toured the Midwest original-music and festival scene.
Upon graduation, Brokamp returned home to Loveland, where he has been teaching music privately since 2012. He is proud to be continuing the Brokamp tradition of education, as his grandfather was a local principal of schools such as Walnut Hills High School, before serving as Superintendent of Cincinnati Public Schools.
When not working or performing, Brokamp resides in Milford with his wife Katie and their four-legged companion, Cash. He is a diehard Cincinnati sports fan, and loves playing in local recreation sports leagues with his family.

Gabe (Bassist, Vocals)

Gabe Geiger has been passionate about music since the age of 8, beginning his journey with the guitar. Over the next two decades, he immersed himself in a variety of musical opportunities, participating in school bands, choirs, and the OMEA All-State Choir. He served as the student director for his high school marching band, competed in the collegiate a cappella ICCAs, and was a member of the OSU Men’s Glee Club. Throughout this time, Gabe picked up and got comfortable with several instruments, including trombone, saxophone, drums, guitar, and bass. After completing his engineering degrees, he decided to focus on the bass, drawn to its irresistible low-end allure. Recently, Gabe moved to Cincinnati from Indianapolis, where he performed with both a jam band and a wedding band. He is thrilled to join the Cincinnati music scene and make music alongside the talented members of Something Blue!

Jason (Drummer)

Jason knew at the age of six that drums were his musical calling. He started on snare in elementary school, moving through marching band in high school and on to forming his first band at 14. Upon moving to Cincinnati for college, Jason connected with a group of like minded musicians in his first cover band, playing out at local venues close to campus.  He also had the opportunity to work as a wedding coordinator at the Old St. George Church in Clifton, giving him deep knowledge and appreciation for weddings and special events. As time went on, Jason honed his craft on the drums in several original and cover bands, collaborating with other musicians and performing at a wide range of events including bars, weddings, concerts, and Cincinnati sporting events (Reds and Bengals).  He had the opportunity to open for several major touring acts such as Blessid Union of Souls, Marshall Tucker Band, Chubby Checker and The Vogues, Eddie Money, and Granger Smith, while also having the opportunity to tour himself for a short time. During the height of COVID, Jason scaled back playing out professionally, and is excited to be returning to the stage with such a talented group of musicians!
